When God calls you to go and attend to the sick and vulnerable, there are certain steps to do.
1. You need to tell the person about the Gospel.
2. Then you need to ensure that the person accepts Jesus Christ in their heart.
3. Ask the person to forgive everyone who has done wrong to them and be repentant.
Remember, we must forgive and hold no grudge against anybody. The Lord will forgive you when you forgive others.
4. Lead the person in prayer, renouncing all curses, ancestrial curses, demonic activities, witchcraft and worshipping of idols and any involvement in occultism, superstitious beliefs and horoscopes and so on.
Jesus is all we need, nobody and nothing else!
5. When the person has a clean heart and accepts the Lord Jesus as his/her Lord and Saviour, start worshipping God.
Exalt His Holy Name, Praise Him for what He is. Acknowledge God as the one and only God, our creator. Praise and give thanks to Him.
6. Ask the person if he/she wants to get healed. If the answer is yes, then you can pray to the Lord for healing to take place. Anoint the person with oil if possible.
7. If you yourself know who you are in Christ, use your authority given by God through Jesus Christ and declare healing in the name of Jesus.
Remember that Jesus didn’t pray for people to get healed, he commanded them to be healed.
John 5:6-9
6 When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he already had been in that condition a long time, He said to him, “Do you want to be made well?”
7 The sick man answered Him, “Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up; but while I am coming, another steps down before me.”
8 Jesus said to him, “Rise, take up your bed and walk.” 9 And immediately the man was made well, took up his bed, and walked.
We have the assurance of Jesus’ power and authority in Mark 16
Mark 16:15-18
15 And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. 17 And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; 18 they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”
We shall have power!
Acts 1:8
8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.
Genesis 28:15
15 Behold, I am with you and will keep
you wherever you go, and will bring you back to this land; for I will not leave you until I have done what I have spoken to you.”
