Is Christmas really important ?

Most people make Christmas the most important occasion of the year.
They prepare many weeks beforehand to organise to celebrate Christmas.
But is Christmas, the birth of Jesus, the most important occasion based on what is written in the Bible?

Was Jesus born on December 25th? Read and study the Bible and you will find that the weather conditions on Jesus birthday must have been a lot earlier than December.

Jesus was born in Bethlehem and according to scripture it was not December, the month of the winter season.
Look at Luke 2:4-8
4 And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:)

5 To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child.

6 And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered.

7 And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.

8 And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.

It was normal during that time, that shepherds spent their nights outside with their flock. Would they do that if it would be a cold December night?

It seems obvious that the date December 25th wouldn’t be correct.

It is nowhere recorded in the Bible that we must celebrate Christmas! Although it is not wrong to remember and celebrate the birth of Jesus. What is most important for us to remember and observe is rather the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ. As Jesus himself clearly stated in the King James Version Bible, Luke 22:19, And He took bread and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me. Jesus’ whole time on earth about 2000 years ago was clearly to save mankind from sin, by sacrificing His own life on the cross and being raised from the dead after 3 days. To me the Resurrection, Jesus’ sacrifice, is the most important occasion to celebrate every year. God bless you.
