The Disciple James, Son Of Zebedee

Apostle James son of Zebedee was one of the twelve apostles of Jesus Christ, along with his brother John. They were fishermen before being called by Jesus to follow him. James was present during many important events in Jesus’ life, including the Transfiguration and the Garden of Gethsemane.

James son of Zebedee was born in the town of Bethsaida, located on the north-eastern shore of the Sea of Galilee.

The exact year of birth of James son of Zebedee is unknown, but it is estimated to be around 1 BC to 10 AD based on historical records and biblical studies.

According to the Bible, he was killed by King Herod Agrippa I around 44 AD, during the persecutions of Christians. Herod ordered the execution of James by sword, making him the first apostle to be martyred.
